I had a great experience buying through Autoport. After I had selected a vehicle in Japan the Autoport team swung into gear and their Japanese agent checked the vehicle out at the car lot. I wanted to make sure it was accident free, the mileage was as indicated and the car was in good condition for its age. After making sure all was Ok I entered into a purchase agreement and the deposit was paid. From that point on the purchase was without any hassles. When the car arrived at the Japanese departure dock it was checked out by Autoport's accredited agents to meet NZ Government entry requirements. It passed with flying colours and was then on the boat to NZ. On arrival in NZ all the compliance details were handled professionally by Autoport and then the balance of the purchase was paid. After registration was completed the car was ready for pickup. At all stages of the purchase I was kept fully informed by Autoport's friendly staff, Daniel and Carlene. I had never purchased a vehicle on-line before, so I was apprehensive about how it all worked. I need not have worried, Autoport was obviously experienced as they answered all my questions reassuringly and allayed my fears by explaining the process clearly to me. They informed me of progress as it happened, the clearance, the loading, the transporting, even the whereabouts of the ship and its ports of call. Whatever paper work was required of them, they informed me, asked me in a timely fashion for my documents. I never felt under pressure and was impressed with their efficiency. I was even met at the airport and taken to their depot where again, all the paperwork was completed, and the car was mine! But it didn't stop there. I can't read Japanese. However, my queries about how something worked on the dashboard were patiently explained. The car is going well! I would not hesitate to recommend this company, and method of purchasing, to anyone. And I am really enjoying the car.

I've now imported two cars via Autoport, both PHEVs, and I am happy to report that on both occasions I found the process to be seamless. Each time their team took care of everything from pre-purchase inspection in Japan to compliance and vinning in NZ, providing email updates along the way - the only hard part was waiting for my vehicles to arrive! The only paperwork on my end was applying to NZTA for the Clean Car Rebate. Having been a Jaguar enthusiast for more than 65 years I was trying to find a low mileage classic Jaguar to enjoy while I could still drive. I found such a car in Japan. I had no idea how to go about having it thoroughly inspected to ensure it was genuinely as reported. Even less how to securely purchase the vehicle. Have it removed from the Japanese register. In May 2021 I decided to purchase my next car through the Internet, while living in Australia. There was a website I liked a lot by the name of "autoport.nz". After searching through it for a while I found a beautiful Mercedes E250, equipped with all the bells and whistles one would expect from such a car. It had a very low (guaranteed) mileage. The price was more than reasonable. So, my wife and decided to go for it. I contacted Autoport.nz. A very helpful and nice person named Daniel contacted me and told me how to go about purchasing a car from them. I paid the initial ten percent deposit of the car’s price. Then the car was checked thoroughly, first in Japan, after shipping it to NZ it was once again checked here. When my wife and I arrived in NZ in July 2021 the car was very nicely groomed and waiting for me, as agreed with Daniel and Natalie (another nice and supportive person of Autoport.nz). So, all up, I like the car, I like the way I was treated as a customer and there’s nothing I could complain about. In fact, our younger daughter is currently in the process of getting three cars from Autoport.NZ, one for her husband, one for her daughter, and one for herself. We weren’t sure about buying a near new car from the UK as we didn’t like the idea of sending a lot of cash overseas and we didn’t know about claiming VAT. Autoport managed all that. The car had just 500 miles on the clock, was highly spec’d and the savings were very, very significant!
