Cupra Leon Cars
Cupra, the sports division of SEAT, has launched its first all-wheel drive Leon 4WD in New Zealand. The Cupra Leon is available in both a hatchback and sportstourer (wagon) model. It is powered by a 2.0 litre TSI turbocharged engine that produces up to 221 kW and 400 Nm of torque. With its all-wheel drive system, it can reach 0-100 km/h in just over 5 seconds.
The Cupra Leon 4WD offers great handling capabilities with a standard four-link rear axle for maximum control and improved stability on sharp corners or tight bends. Additionally, its DCC adaptive suspension enables drivers to choose between driving modes like Comfort or Sport to customize the ride according to their preferences. Another key feature of the Cupra Leon is the electronic front differential lock (VAQ), which distributes power to each wheel when required for maximum grip.
This model boasts plenty of technology features as well such as Adaptive Cruise Control with predictive speed regulator (PSR) and Travel Assist system, which takes care of acceleration, braking and lane departure warnings at speeds up to 210 km/h while remaining within traffic regulations.
With fuel consumption rated at around eight litres per hundred kilometres on combined cycle testing, the car has also achieved Euro 6d-ISC certification.
One point worth noting about the Cupra Leon 4WD for New Zealand's conditions is that it comes with several safety features including multiple airbags throughout the vehicle along with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These include a Pre-Collision Assist system that detects potential obstacles and automatically applies brakes if necessary.
Overall, The Cupra Leon 4WD represents an attractive package with sporty aesthetics, exceptional performance and versatility suitable for daily driving or weekend getaways while being able to handle challenging terrain should you find yourself venturing out beyond sealed roads.
